Abby's Staff Bio Photo

Abby Coulter

Program Coordinator
Serving Since 2015
Abby Coulter is from Tuftonboro, New Hampshire. She will be serving as the Girls’ Program Coordinator this summer. Abby has been attending camp since 2004 and has been serving as a counselor for the past three years. She is passionate about making others happy and helping others experience God’s love. In the future, Abby plans to either be a social worker or a special education teacher. Her favorite things to do include hiking throughout New Hampshire, working with kids, and hammocking. Abby is so excited for this summer, and cannot wait to see all God has in store!

This is Emma's fourth year on staff at camp Sentinel, and her third serving as Head Counselor in the Girls' Unit. Outside of camp, she is studying Sustainable Agriculture and enjoys reading, drawing, cooking, hiking and painting in her free time. At camp she enjoys spending time with campers, learning about God and His amazing creation.

Sam Arrigal

Sam serves as a camp counselor during the summer season. She is responsible for mentoring a different group of girls each week. Sam first came to camp in 2013 as a LIT and joined staff the following year. This summer, Sam is looking forward to skit nights, hike days, and unit fires. She is excited to see old campers, meet new ones and make new memories with both.

Megan Hutar is from Durham, New Hampshire. This will be Megan’s seventh year at Sentinel and her third year serving as a member of the program staff. In her free time during the school year, she enjoys traveling and riding horses. At camp, her favorite things to do are hiking, swimming, and worship. Megan believes that the best days at camp are those ended by a beautiful sunset over the mountains. She is looking forward to another awesome summer and helping kids have fun at Sentinel!

Mallory Wilson

Mallory Wilson will be serving as a counselor in the Girl’s Unit this summer. She is a college freshman who currently resides in the rural town of Sugar Hill, New Hampshire, where bears and deer outnumber actual residents. She enjoys mountain biking, kayaking, hammocking, snowshoeing, and ice skating with her family. However, her favorite activities include playing and snuggling with her three adorable nieces. When at camp, she is especially fond of tea parties, archery, zip line, making playdough, and hiking. She is tremendously excited to return to camp this summer and have the opportunity to build friendships and memories with your children.

Rebekah Hinrichsen

Rebekah Hinrichsen is from Strafford, NH. Rebekah first attended Sentinel as a camper in 2011, and this will be her second year on the program team. She currently participates in soccer, basketball, and track throughout the school year. She is also very passionate about art and is very active in the art department at her school. She loves to be outside, and some of her favorite activities at camp include sports, swimming, hiking, and crafts. Rebekah is extremely excited to have the opportunity to share God’s word at camp this summer.

Shelby Nicholson is a high school student from Hampton NH. This will be her second year on staff, and seventh year at camp overall. She can't wait to spend another summer at camp! Shelby loves spending time outside, swimming, hiking, canoeing, and everything else done at camp. She can't wait to spread the word of God, and help others grow closer to Jesus!

Abigail Van Brunt

Abbi Van Brunt is a high school student from Tuftonboro, NH who is starting to look at colleges. Abbi is interested in studying American Sign Language and is learning to play the guitar. This is her second summer on staff as a counselor in the girl’s unit and 13th year at Sentinel. Abigail will also be serving as our head lifeguard at the waterfront.  She is excited to swim, hike, study the Bible, and make wonderful memories with your camper!

Anna Mansfield is returning for her second year on staff and cannot wait to get the summer started! She enjoys reading, science, creativity and being outdoors. Someday Anna would like to go hang gliding or scuba diving, or both! This summer, Anna is looking forward to building new relationships and discussing Christ with others.

Hannah (Haw-nah) Denis is from Concord, NH and this will be her second year on staff. Last year Hannah worked in the kitchen and is excited to see how God can user her as Swing Staff this summer. She is most excited to spend time with campers, swim in Dan Hole Pond, ride the giant swing, and spend time in God's creation. In her free time, Hannah enjoys playing guitar, Ukulele, and writing. She is also excited to study baking and pastry arts this fall.

Mary McCarthy lives in Tuftonboro, New Hampshire and has been going to Camp Sentinel for seven years. This year Mary will be joining the Sentinel staff for the first time. Outside of camp, Mary enjoys reading, working on art, walking in the woods, swimming and spending time with her family and friends. Mary is excited about this summer and what things God has in store for her and the campers. 

Boys Program

Bryen's Staff Bio Photo

Bryen Woody

Bryen is from Wilmington NC and will serve as our Boys Program Coordinator this summer. Bryen has been attending Sentinel since 2007 and has been serving as a counselor for the past three years. In the future, Bryen is planning to either be a special education teacher, or a social worker. Some of Bryen’s passions include playing soccer and working with people with developmental disabilities. He feels that this is going to be a great summer and can’t wait to see how God will work through the campers and staff.

Jared Dykshoorn

Head Counselor

Jared serves as the Boys' Head Counselor, and 2018 will be his third year on summer staff at Sentinel. He was first introduced to camp through Homeschool Family Camp and quickly fell in love with the atmosphere and the people.  While away from Camp, Jared loves spending his time outdoors, with interests in hiking, hunting, fishing, and playing soccer. Jared's dream is to pursue law enforcement, with an end goal of joining the New York State Troopers. Currently living near Lake George, New York, Jared also enjoys listening to country music, making custom hunting knives, and spending time with friends and family.

David Mansfield

Serving as a member of the boy’s program staff, David Mansfield is excited to return to Sentinel for a third year. Having finished his first year at Gordon College, David is no closer to deciding what he wants to do with his life than when he first arrived, although he does enjoy studying philosophy. In his spare time, David enjoys acting, playing the piano, skiing, sailing, and pondering the meaning of life. While at camp, some of David's favorite things to do are playing GaGa ball, lifeguarding the Bongo, and conducting Bible study.

Josiah Hinrichsen

Josiah Hinrichsen attends Coe-Brown Northwood Academy in Northwood NH, where he is a member of the track and field team. When he’s not in school or playing sports you can find Josiah hiking, snow-shoeing, or cross-country skiing through the woods. He enjoys all outdoor activities including bow hunting and fishing. This summer will be Josiah’s 11th year at Camp Sentinel and third year on staff. He is looking forward to spending the summer enjoying God’s creation and sharing His word with the campers.

David McClure is from Canterbury NH, where he attended Belmont high school, but those times are long over. It’s off to college for him. Don't let him fool you, he’s older than he looks; his appearance hasn’t changed for years. This summer he will be serving as a counselor in the boy’s unit. David promises to do his best to make the weeks at camp a memorable experience for each camper.

Kevin Curnane is from Jefferson, NH and a student at White Mountain Regional High School. He began working at Sentinel last summer and fell in love with the place and people. His two favorite parts of camp are the Bible study and hiking. Kevin loves helping campers experience God in the outdoors. Outside of camp, Kevin is on his school's wrestling team and loves spending time with friends and family.

Joseph Wasson

Joseph Wasson is from Ossipee, NH and has been at Camp Sentinel for eleven years, and this will be his second year on staff. He is super excited to be able to spend his summer having loads of fun and spreading Jesus’s light. In his free time, Joseph likes to hunt, fish, hike, and ski. During the school year, he loves running for the Kingswood track and cross-country teams.

Brennan Dunn

Brennan Dunn is a student at Winnisquam Regional High school. 2018 will be his first year on staff but he has been coming to camp since 2013. His favorite activities are running after school with his friends, drawing, and a new hobby of baking. He loves sports and has a great appreciation for other athletes. If he is not found at Camp Sentinel there is a good chance he is running with his friends in a race or at home in his kitchen.

Ethan Raifsnider, from Wolfeboro, NH, has been attending Sentinel since 2007. He now joins us this summer for his first year on staff. In his free time, Ethan enjoys hiking, fishing and playing sports. When at camp, his favorite activities include gaga ball and basketball. He attends the First Congregational Church of Ossipee.

Cody Claus

Cody Claus is a homeschooled student, from Rochester, NH, who enjoys art and meaningful conversations. He has been around Camp Sentinel staff for most of his life and volunteered as a mentor last year. Cody has a strong relationship with God and has spent a lot of time researching the philosophical and scientific evidence for the existence of God. He has also participated in multiple evangelist groups in Keene NH.

Camden Caswell is a new member of the swing staff this summer and has been a camper and volunteer at Sentinel for seven years. Camden lives in Derry, New Hampshire where he enjoys designing things and reading or thinking about history and technology. He has a passion for adventure and is excited to be a part of an adventure this summer at Sentinel.

Landon Wilson

Food Service Coordinator

Landon Wilson joined the Sentinel staff in the summer of 2016 and fell in love with what camp had to offer. This year he is back to Sentinel as the Food Service Coordinator. This means he will be in charge of making sure every camper gets three square meals a day. Landon is currently a nursing student studying at the Lakes Region Community College in Laconia, NH, and bound to graduate in 2019 with his RN. He is also an inspiring artist and hopes to one day publish his own illustrated book.

Amber Ladner is from Stratham, NH. This is her 4th year on staff and 13th year attending Camp Sentinel. This summer she will be serving as an assistant cook in the kitchen. In her free time at camp, Amber loves to swim and relax in the grassy field.

Rebekah Watson

Rebekah Watson is serving as an assistant cook this summer. She is 18, and enjoys many things, like singing, sewing, swimming, and alliteration. She also loves making people smile. When not studying like a maniac, Rebekah can be found exploring her surroundings or laughing with her friends. Though not sure of her plans for next year, she knows she wants to go into medicine. Whatever life may bring, Rebekah hopes to take it with a slice of pie and a lot of trust in Jesus.

Rebekah Washer just completed her senior year at Mascoma Valley Regional High School in Canaan, NH. She has enjoyed riding horses for about four years, and sings and plays the flute. Rebekah has been part of the school band for seven years. This summer she will be working in the kitchen for her second-year as Sentinel staff. Rebekah is so excited for this summer and can't wait to start working!

Greta started her experience at Sentinel in 2013 as a camper and attended Sentinel every summer until 2017 when she joined the staff as a kitchen crew member. Greta is a high school student from New Durham, NH. In her free time, Greta enjoys photography, playing guitar, and being involved with programs in her church.

Zachary Corban

Zac is from West Swanzey NH and attends school in Westminster, Vermont. In his free time, he enjoys woodworking and participating in sports including basketball, swimming, and running track. Zac is currently a Seaman in the Navy Sea Cadets. This summer, he is most looking forward to helping other and worshiping God with his guitar.

Sam's Staff Bio Photo

Sam Stiles

Maintenance Coordinator
Serving Since 2016
This is Sam’s third year on staff serving as the Maintenance Coordinator. He is a senior at Berlin High school in Berlin, New Hampshire and is the captain of the cross-country team. He also plays hockey, runs track, enjoys snowboarding, and loves to play the guitar. When he’s not at school, practice, or working, you can usually find him in the woods hunting or fishing. By the end of high school, he will be a certified structural steel welder and plans on pursuing mechanical engineering in the Navy.

Zachary Wood

Zachary Wood is from Sanbornton, NH and a student at Winnisquam Regional High School. He began serving God at Sentinel in 2016, though he has been attending Sentinel since 2007. This summer he will be leading the housekeeping crew and be doing his best to make Sentinel look and feel amazing. At camp, he also enjoys Gaga Ball, helping other departments, and having a blast! In his spare time, he likes music, singing, photography, playing basketball, and helping out at his church. He looks forward to serving the camp ministry and the campers this summer.

Jacob Emerick

Maintenance Crew

Jacob is a rising sophomore at Gordon College studying history and secondary education with a concentration in ESL. He is from Marblehead, MA and loves the theater, camping, fishing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing amongst other things. This is Jacob’s first summer at Camp Sentinel and he is excited to get to know all the campers and help them deepen their relationship with Jesus over the course of their time at camp. Going to camp was an important part of his walk with Christ so now Jake would like to help make it an important part of another camper’s life.

Dorinda Washer

Administrative Assistant

Dorinda serves as the Administrative Assistant here at Camp Sentinel. She lives in Canaan, NH with her husband and 2 of 3 kids; when she is not at Sentinel, her second home. Dorinda has been involved with camp as a camper, staff, and volunteer since the age of seven. When not at Sentinel, Dorinda works at Enfield Village School in the Student Support Center. She works closely with students who have behavior challenges, helping them find more successful ways to express their needs. Dorinda is excited about summer and looks forward to seeing the smiling faces of the campers.

Tucker Van Brunt

Camper Relations Coordinator

Tucker Van Brunt from Tuftonboro, NH is excited to THRIVE in the stillness of God’s creation while at Camp Sentinel this summer! He has been at Sentinel for the past 13 years, and this is his 5th summer on staff with the Sentinel family. This summer he will be serving the campers and his fellow staff members as Sentinel’s Camper Relations Coordinator.  Tucker currently attends Gordon College in Wenham, Mass. where he studies Biology on a pre-med track. He finds that this field of study allows him to dive deeper into understanding God’s complex creation. His hobbies include photography, writing, working with digital media, and staring into microscopes for long hours (if that counts? He thinks it does!). If you ever have a, “where’s Tucker?” moment, you can probably find him behind a viewfinder where the action is! He looks forward to capturing and displaying the many memories created here at Sentinel in the weeks to come!

Elissa Boucher

Wellness Coordinator

Elissa Boucher is from Antrim, New Hampshire. This is her 14th summer serving as the Camp Nurse/Wellness Coordinator. Elissa has been attending camp every summer for the past 25 years and 20 of those years on staff! Elissa has her bachelor’s degree in science of nursing and is currently licensed in the state of New Hampshire as a registered nurse. She is really excited to meet all the campers and coordinate any medical care that is needed. Outside of camp, Elissa likes to read non-fictional historical books about medical care during times of war. She also likes archery and goes target practicing in her free time. She is a big New England sports’ fan and tries to watch or listen to as many Red Sox games as possible. Elissa is always excited to see all that God does at Sentinel and looks forward to seeing and experiencing His blessings this summer.
