Can you hear me now?

". . . Every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." -- Luke 11:10

Recently my cell phone of three years started to lose battery quickly. Over time the more I used my phone the less battery charge I would have. I would call my wife, but then after a few moments on the phone, I would say, “Can you hear me now?” I would look at my phone and it would be a black screen, my phone was dead. I needed a new battery. My son found me a new phone, helped me order it, set it up and I was on my way to making calls again.

The disciples asked Jesus, “Lord teach us how to pray.” And He did! Having fully charged communication with God- a full battery ready for communication, requires an investment of our time and needs to be purposeful.

As I look at the leaves begin to turn beautiful colors, I am drawn to how great our God is, and I am amazed that our great God wants to have a personal relationship with me.

Mother Theresa said about prayer, “Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts."

Prayer begins with quieting our lives long enough to listen to His voice. I encourage you to look at the changing leaves that the God of all Creation made, quiet your heart and remember He waits for you.
