Abby Coulter is from Tuftonboro, New Hampshire. She will be serving as the Girls’ Program Coordinator again this summer. Abby has been attending camp since 2004 and has been serving as a counselor for the past three years. She is passionate about making others happy and helping others experience God’s love. In the future, Abby plans to either be a social worker or a special education teacher. Her favorite things to do include hiking, working with kids, and hammocking. Abby is so excited for this summer, and cannot wait to see all God has in store!
Girl's Program Coordinator
Dorinda Washer will be serving as the Administrative Assistant this year. You will find her in the Gatehouse awaiting your visit. Dorinda started attending Sentinel as a camper at the age of 7 (3rd generation). Camp quickly became her favorite place to be and she would look forward to summers every year. Her husband and 3 children have also attended camp and have been on staff. This year will be her 20th year on staff, counting her kitchen crew years as a teen. During the school year, Dorinda lives in Canaan, NH with her husband and 2 of 3 kids. She works in an elementary school supporting students who have emotional and behavioral challenges. One of the things that brings her joy is watching a student discover their potential and begin to believe in themselves.
This is Tucker Van Brunt, and he will be serving in his fifth year at Camp Sentinel and his second year as the Camper Relation's Coordinator. In this position, he hopes to help enhance and continue to progress Sentinel's marketing, create a welcoming environment for campers and their families, and help to serve behind the scenes with administrative support. Tucker is heading into his Junior year at Gordon College where he studies Communication Arts with an interest in Marketing and Public Relations.

This is Shelby. She will be serving as the Girl’s Head Counselor this summer. She has been coming to Sentinel since 2012 and on staff since 2017. Shelby is excited to be attending High Point University in North Carolina this fall. Some of her favorite activities include swimming, hiking, leading worship, and basically anything else done at camp. She is very excited to see what God has in store for this summer.
Girl's Head Counselor
Mallory Wilson is from the quaint town of Sugar Hill, NH. She loves baking, writing, binge-watching Netflix with family, and enjoying nature. Since most of her family has been or is heavily a part of Sentinel, much of her family time involves the swapping of camp stories and planning for the coming summer. Mallory began working at Sentinel in 2017 and has loved every minute of her time at camp. Some of her favorite activities at camp include rock-climbing, archery, and tea party! Mallory is super excited for summer and already counting down the days until camp begins.
Mary McCarthy is from Tuftonboro, New Hampshire and will be serving as a member of the girl's program staff this year. She has been attending Sentinel since 2011 and serving on staff since 2018. Mary enjoys spending time with campers, hammocking, singing and experiencing the outdoors in God’s wondrous creation. Mary’s favorite places at Camp include the Hobby House, the Ledges, and of course the Waterfront. This summer she is looking forward to spreading God’s word and caring for those around her, all while having a ball.
Maria Johnson loves camp. This year will be her first year on staff and her seventh year coming to camp! This year she will be serving on swing staff as a counselor. She is looking forward to making new friends while learning more and spreading the Word of God. Her favorite thing to do at camp is meet new people and play all the fun games during the activity times. In her free time, Maria is either stage managing the next play/musical at her school, practicing the violin, traveling, or reading a new book. In the future, she wants to graduate and go to Liberty University, get a degree in Biomedical Sciences, and eventually become a Doctor.
David McClure is from Canterbury NH. He attended Belmont high school, but those times are long over. It’s off to college for him. Don't let David’s appearance fool you, he’s older than he looks. David’s appearance hasn’t changed for years. This summer he will be serving as a counselor in the boy’s unit. David promises to do his best to make the weeks at camp a memorable experience for each camper.
Ethan Raifsnider, from Wolfeboro, NH. He has been attending Sentinel since 2007. and serving on staff since 2018. In his free time, Ethan enjoys hiking, fishing and playing sports. When at camp, his favorite activities include gaga ball and basketball. He attends the First Congregational Church of Ossipee.
Noah will be serving as a counselor in the boy's unit this summer. He enjoys the leadership opportunities that camp provides and is excited to share his experience with the campers this summer. Noah has been raised as a Christian all his life and plays an active role in his church by helping in the sound booth each week, assisting with vacation bible school and his youth group. When he is not at camp he likes to practice mixed martial arts and hopes to one day succeed in the fast-rising sport.
Rebekah Washer has been serving at Sentinel since 2017. She has enjoyed riding horses for five years, sings, and plays the flute. Rebekah has been part of the school band for seven years. Rebekah is so excited to serve in the kitchen again this summer and can't wait to see all the campers!
Kitchen Crew Leader
Jacob Overton attends Pinkerton Academy and has spent his entire life living in Derry NH. He enjoys all sports, mainly basketball, goes skiing, runs track and is a member of the Pinkerton Drumline. This will be his first year on staff but, his sixth year at camp. He will be on the Housekeeping staff this summer. Jacob is a fun-loving guy, who always loves playing sports and enjoying friend’s company. He hopes to be a great role model for your child while helping them to grow in their faith. He attends Middle Street Baptist Church in Portsmouth NH, where he has been atttending for over ten years. He hopes to help make a positive impact on your child’s life this summer.
Taylor Nydam is from Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, and 2019 will be her first year on staff! Taylor will be attending the University of New Hampshire this coming fall and competing in track and field. Some of her favorite things to do are travel, run, hike, swim and spend time with friends and family. She is so excited for camp to start and can't wait to meet all of the campers and staff.
Rebecca was first introduced to Sentinel in 2018 and she is so excited to be serving in the girls unit this summer! For fun she enjoys playing soccer, hiking, skiing and snowboarding, riding her snowmobile and four wheelers, riding horses and spending time by the lake! Rebecca can’t wait to give your children the best experience possible at camp this summer!
Bryen is from Wilmington NC, and will serve as our Boys Program Coordinator again this summer. Bryen has been attending Sentinel since 2007 and has served on staff since 2015. Bryen is currently attending NHTI in Concord, and aspires to be either a special education teacher or social worker. Some of Bryen’s passions include playing soccer and working with people with developmental disabilities. He feels that this is going to be a great summer and can’t wait to see how God will work through the campers and staff.
Boy's Program Coordinator
Elissa Boucher is from Antrim, New Hampshire. She has been serving as Sentinel's Camp Nurse/Wellness Coordinator since 2014 and in other roles since 1999. Elissa has her bachelor’s degree of science in nursing and is currently licensed in the State of New Hampshire as a registered nurse. She is really excited to meet all the children and coordinate any medical care that is needed while at camp. Outside of camp Elissa likes to read non-fiction and fictional historical books. She also likes archery and goes target practicing in her free time. She is a big New England sports fan and tries to watch or listen to as many of the Red Sox games as possible. Elissa is always excited to see all that God does at Sentinel, and she looks forward to seeing and experience his blessings this summer.
Elissa Boucher RN
Zach Wood will be serving as our Housekeeping Coordinator this summer. This is his 4th year serving God at Sentinel (12 years attending in total). Zach is from Sanbornton, New Hampshire where he will be graduating from Winnisquam Regional High School. He will be attending Gordon College this fall. On the side, he likes to watch TV, sleep, think, listen to music, take photos of nature, play basketball, and help out at his church. He looks forward to having a blast at camp this summer and serving God and the ministry!
Abbi Van Brunt is from Tuftonboro, NH and is excited to be the waterfront coordinator this summer! As a graduating senior from high school, Abbi is delighted to attend college at Word of Life Bible Institute in the fall of 2019 to strengthen her Christian foundation. Abbi has been coming to camp as a camper since 2005 and this is her third year on staff. She is excited to roast s’mores and swim with the campers! When she isn’t doing school or at camp she enjoys knitting, listening to audio books, hanging out with her rabbit Penelope, and of course, hammocking!
Waterfront Coordinator/ Program Staff
Abbi Van Brunt
Anna Mansfield is returning for her third year on staff. She will be serving as a lifeguard and a counselor. This summer she looks forward to discussing the Bible with others and sharing the good news of Jesus! Her favorite part of camp is Sunday afternoon when she gets to meet campers for the first time. In her free time, she enjoys painting, playing the piano or guitar, and reading (her two favorite genres: anything historical and fantasy). In the future, she hopes to study early childhood or middle-grade education.
Ruthie Bachand has been attending Sentinel since 2009 and this summer she has joined the summer staff team! Some of her favorite things to do include reading, playing with her guinea pigs, listening to the Beatles and other classic rock, playing the guitar and singing, and simply hanging out with friends and family. Ruthie is super excited to serve on the Sentinel team this year and can’t wait to meet your campers!
David Mansfield has been serving at Camp Sentinel since 2015 and will return this summer as the Boys Head Counselor. Now in his Sophomore year, David enjoys studying Philosophy at Gordon College as he works towards his dream of working in a philosophy factory. While at Camp some of David’s favorite things to do include: playing gaga ball, bouncing on the bongo, and answering questions during Bible study. Outside of camp, some things David enjoys doing include: sailing, playing strategy board games, and asking hypothetical questions.
Boy's Head Counselor
This is Joseph Wasson. He has been at Sentinel since 2008, and on staff since 2017. He is super excited to be able to once again spend his summer having loads of fun and spreading Jesus’ light. In his free time Joseph likes to hunt, fish, hike, and ski. During the school year he loves running for the Kingswood Track and Cross-Country teams.
Cody Claus is a homeschooled student, from Rochester, NH, who enjoys art and meaningful conversations. He has been around Camp Sentinel staff for most of his life and serving on staff since 2018. Cody has a strong relationship with God and has spent a lot of time researching the philosophical and scientific evidence for the existence of God. He has also participated in multiple evangelist groups in Keene NH.
Amber Ladner is from Stratham, NH. She has been serving on staff since 2015 and been attending Sentinel since 2006. This summer she will be serving as an assistant cook in the kitchen. In her free time at camp, Amber loves to swim and relax in the grassy field.
Theresa LaPlante is from Alton, NH. She has been to camp as a camper as well as a volunteer in the past, and is very excited to be serving as part of the kitchen crew this summer. Theresa is currently taking classes at NHTI of Concord and is working towards a degree in Criminal Justice. During her free time she enjoys horseback riding, painting, photography, visiting the ocean, and laughing at memes.
Donald will be serving at the Food Service Coordinator this summer. He is from Tilton NH and works for the Tilton School District in the non-summer months. In his free time, he enjoys activities such as swimming, kayaking and horseback riding. Art is also a big part of Donald's life. He loves to paint and enjoys reading, especially poetry. While this will be Donald's first time serving at Sentinel, he has been connected with the camp for years.
Food Service Coordinator
Peter is the youngest of ten and is homeschooled. He lives on a small farm where he raises Golden Retrievers with his family. Some of Peters favorite hobbies are acting, whittling, reading, singing while playing guitar or mandolin, riding horses and climbs trees. He is very excited to be working at camp this summer and hopes to make a difference in a camper’s life!
