Mallory Wilson will be our girls Program Coordinator, and is from the quaint town of Sugar Hill, NH. She loves baking, writing, binge-watching Netflix with family, and enjoying nature. Since most of her family has been or is heavily a part of Sentinel, much of her family time involves the swapping of camp stories and planning for the coming summer. Mallory began working at Sentinel in 2017 and has loved every minute of her time at camp. Some of her favorite activities at camp include rock-climbing, archery, and tea party! Mallory is super excited for summer and already counting down the days until camp begins.
Dorinda Washer will be serving as the Administrative Assistant this year. You will find her in the Gatehouse awaiting your visit. Dorinda started attending Sentinel as a camper at the age of 7 (3rd generation). Camp quickly became her favorite place to be and she would look forward to summers every year. Her husband and 3 children have also attended camp and have been on staff. This year will be her 20th year on staff, counting her kitchen crew years as a teen. During the school year, Dorinda lives in Canaan, NH with her husband and 2 of 3 kids. She works in an elementary school supporting students who have emotional and behavioral challenges. One of the things that brings her joy is watching a student discover their potential and begin to believe in themselves.
Tucker Van Brunt
Tucker Van Brunt has lived at camp since 2005, he has breathed the air at camp more than any other staff member. On staff since 2014, he serves as the Marketing Coordinator. In this position, he hopes to help enhance and continue to progress Sentinel's marketing, create a welcoming environment for campers and their families, and help to serve behind the scenes with administrative support. Tucker is currently in his junior year at Gordon College where he studies Communication Arts with an interest in Marketing and Public Relations.
Girls Unit Leader
Anna Mansfield is returning for her fourth year on staff. She will be serving as a lifeguard and a Girls Girls Unit Leader. This summer she looks forward to discussing the Bible with others and sharing the good news of Jesus! Her favorite part of camp is Sunday afternoon when she gets to meet campers for the first time. In her free time, she enjoys painting, playing the piano or guitar, and reading (her two favorite genres: anything historical and fantasy). In the future, she hopes to study early childhood or middle-grade education.
Mary McCarthy is from Tuftonboro, New Hampshire and will be serving as a member of the girls program staff this year. She has been serving at Sentinel since 2018. While at camp, Mary enjoys spending her time with the campers, hammocking, singing and just spending time outdoors, that is of course when she isn’t busy crafting in the Hobby House. Mary’s other favorite places at Camp include the Ledges, and the Waterfront. This summer she is looking forward to sharing God’s love, and caring for those around her, all while having fun.
Maria Johnson is from York, Maine and is so excited to be returning for her second year on staff as program staff! Maria started off her years here at Sentinel as a camper and has fulfilled her wishes of becoming a camp counselor like those she looked up to as a camper! Maria currently attends Liberty University Online Academy High School and is so excited to be a student at their sister university Liberty University in 2021. Maria loves working with kids and has all her life! She loves spreading the love of God to the campers and she can’t wait for this summer.
Boys Unit Leader
My name is Joseph Wasson, and I have been serving at Sentinel since 2017! This year I am serving as the boys unit leader, and I am so excited to lead our staff and campers in the example of love and a servant's heart that Christ has set for us as Christians. When I am not at Sentinel, I enjoy working with the local youth group, running on the local cross country and track team at Kingswood Regional High School, and spending time with friends and families.
Food Service Coordinator
Donald will be serving at the Food Service Coordinator this summer. He is from Tilton NH and works for the Tilton School District in the non-summer months. In his free time, he enjoys activities such as swimming, kayaking and horseback riding. Art is also a big part of Donald's life. He loves to paint and enjoys reading, especially poetry. While this will be Donald's first time serving at Sentinel, he has been connected with the camp for years.
Jillian Swett is from Franklin, NH. She has attended camp sentinel since 2012 and this is her first year on staff. She enjoys playing the saxophone, baking, playing basketball and running sound for her local theatre. Jillian is excited and looking forward to working at camp this summer!
Christopher joined kitchen staff in 2019 and is delighted to return to Camp Sentinel this summer! His hobbies include music, theatre, and calligraphy. Daily routine, a Christian environment, and lots of outdoors are just a few of the things he loves about camp. Outside of camp, he is an aspiring musician and theatre director.
This is Kiersten’s first year on staff. She is excited to become part of the kitchen staff. Kiersten previously attended Camp Sentinel as a young camper, then continued in L.I.T (formerly leader in training), S.I.T (formerly staff in training) and Mentors programs. This summer Kiersten hopes that others will see her passion towards God and feel led to accept Him into their hearts. A few things that Kiersten enjoys are nature, swimming, and playing Ultimate Frisbee. In the future she is hopes to travel, study foreign languages, and meet new people.
Boy's Program Coordinator
David Mansfield has been serving at Camp Sentinel since 2015 and will return this summer as the Boys Program Coordinator. Now in his Senior year, David enjoys studying Philosophy at Gordon College as he works towards his dream of working in a philosophy factory. While at Camp some of David’s favorite things to do include: playing gaga ball, bouncing on the bongo, and answering questions during Bible study. Outside of camp, some things David enjoys doing include: sailing, playing strategy board games, and asking hypothetical questions.
Elissa Boucher RN
Elissa Boucher is from Antrim, New Hampshire. She has been serving as Sentinel's Camp Nurse/Wellness Coordinator since 2014 and in other roles since 1999. Elissa has her bachelor’s degree of science in nursing and is currently licensed in the State of New Hampshire as a registered nurse. She is really excited to meet all the children and coordinate any medical care that is needed while at camp. Outside of camp Elissa likes to read non-fiction and fictional historical books. She also likes archery and goes target practicing in her free time. She is a big New England sports fan and tries to watch or listen to as many of the Red Sox games as possible. Elissa is always excited to see all that God does at Sentinel, and she looks forward to seeing and experience his blessings this summer.
Abbi Van Brunt
Waterfront Coordinator/ Program Staff
Abbi Van Brunt is from Tuftonboro, NH and is excited to be the waterfront coordinator this summer! Abbi is delighted to be attending college at Word of Life Bible Institute to strengthen her Christian foundation. Abbi has been coming to camp as a camper since 2005 and this is her fourth year on staff. She is excited to roast s’mores and swim with the campers! When she isn’t doing school or at camp she enjoys knitting, listening to audio books, hanging out with her rabbit Penelope, and of course, hammocking!
Mercedes aka Merci is originally from Center Tuftonboro, NH. She's excited to be back to serve this summer as program support. Merci loves reading stories to anyone who wants to hear one! She also enjoys various creative pursuits like watercolor painting. She also has a passion for Signed languages and hopes one day to work with the Deaf community. She is a strong advocate for having the Bible translated into the many Signed languages that exist. She's so excited that you are here at camp! And hopes to help make this a great week for you!
Ruthie Bachand has been attending Sentinel since 2009 and this summer she has joined the summer staff team! Some of her favorite things to do include reading, playing with her guinea pigs, listening to the Beatles and other classic rock, playing the guitar and singing, and simply hanging out with friends and family. Ruthie is super excited to serve on the Sentinel team this year and can’t wait to meet your campers!
David McClure is from Canterbury NH. He attended Belmont high school, but those times are long over. It’s off to college for him. Don't let David’s appearance fool you, he’s older than he looks. David’s appearance hasn’t changed for years. This summer he will be serving as a counselor in the boy’s unit. David promises to do his best to make the weeks at camp a memorable experience for each camper.
Jacob Overton attends Pinkerton Academy and has spent his entire life living in Derry NH. He enjoys all sports, mainly basketball, goes skiing, runs track and is a member of the Pinkerton Drumline. This will be his first year on staff but, his sixth year at camp. He will be on the Housekeeping staff this summer. Jacob is a fun-loving guy, who always loves playing sports and enjoying friend’s company. He hopes to be a great role model for your child while helping them to grow in their faith. He attends Middle Street Baptist Church in Portsmouth NH, where he has been atttending for over ten years. He hopes to help make a positive impact on your child’s life this summer.
Peter is the youngest of ten and is homeschooled. He lives on a small farm where he raises Golden Retrievers with his family. Some of Peters favorite hobbies are acting, whittling, reading, singing while playing guitar or mandolin, riding horses and climbs trees. He is very excited to be working at camp this summer and hopes to make a difference in a camper’s life!
Olivia has been working at camp sentinel since 2019. It is her favorite place to be and she is very excited for this summer! Her goal this summer is to show the love of Jesus to her campers and everyone around her, and to have fun. Some of her favorite things to do are spending time with friends, playing music, and traveling. Her favorite activity at camp is night swimming or playing Nukem.
Housekeeping Crew Leader
Noah Wingate is returning for his second year on the housekeeping staff. From New Durham NH, Noah enjoys kayaking and gaga ball during the Sentinel season, and snowboarding in the winter. He looks forward to working with the housekeeping staff and having fun this summer.
